There are two versions included with this pattern, Cardigan and Coat. The Cardigan is straight and hits at high hip. The Coat has increases that start at the waist and lands at low hip or lower, depending on height. The sleeve length for the Cardigan is 3/4 sleeve and the Coat has a full sleeve. This design (especially, the Coat) fits and wears almost like a jacket or sweater coat. It has a warm, structured feel.

This design began from a desire to combine two beautiful yarns that were new arrivals to the yarn store I work at, A Good Yarn, in Sarasota. I immediately fell in love with Elder from Ritual Dyes. The texture and colors are irresistable. Homestead Sport, by Primrose, has colorways that intriguely morph within each skein. Elder has many qualities that make it perfect for this role of being The Boss. It is Light Worsted, non-superwash, and 100% Rambouillet. It creates a solid and unwavering base for the lighter Homestead Sport. The resulting fabric has integrity, but is lighter than expected. Homestead succumbs to Elder’s directions and it is a match made in heaven.
