I started knitting bunnies last year and this is one of several different outfits requested, all now available in the Hoppy Bunnies ebook. Santa looks great sitting under the tree. My version was knitted in Robin Fleece yearn, which makes him really snugly.

You can use any yarn weight for the bunny and outfit as long as all your colours are the same yarn ‘weight’ or type- different weights of yarn will give different sizes. If you use double knit (USA light worsted) weight she will be about 6 inches (15cm) high and 6.5 inches (16 cm) wide.

You will need about 100g of main colour (purple and brown in my examples) and contrast (white) for foot pads and inner ears, as well as red and white for the outfit. You also need some suitable wadding or other material to stuff the bunny. You could use polystyrene beads for the body if you want a more ‘bean bag’ style. You will also need buttons or toy eyes to use as eyes, unless you would rather embroider these.

This is a written pattern, in English, which also has quite a few photos to illustrate some of the stages. The pieces are ‘worked flat’ with seams rather than in the round.
