I was looking for a pattern that was easily memorized yet interesting for summer car trips and portable for beach and pool side knitting. My friend Pat suggested a broken rib pattern, and so the idea for these socks was born. These socks are knit cuff down, magic loop method, with an afterthought heel. It is easily adaptable to using a set of 5 DPNS. I’m using a new sock yarn from FLYING FINN Pilot Sock yarn called Confetti Cake with a mini skien for heels and toes in Highlighter colorway. I love all the speckled colors on the beige base. This pattern is easily adaptable to any length and would look great in solid or striped sock yarn. I used an Afterthought heel in the design as I’m planning on using the coordinating solid color for heels and toes.
