Focus is a tubular cowl, featuring stranded colourwork throughout, with an intricate, geometric pattern. The colourwork repeats are rotated around the cowl’s circumference, creating variety and interest. A provisional cast on to begin and a kitchener stitch graft to finish ensure a beautiful and high-quality finish. Focus is a cosy and stylish Winter warmer, the product of a straightforward yet rewarding knit.

Yarn and Yardage
The sample has been worked using Hypothesis Yarns’ Merino DK, with Nikita as Main Colour and Urchin as Contrast Colour.
The Merino DK is a fluffy and sumptuous yarn which produces a beautifully dense fabric.
MC yardage: 220m / 110g CC yardage: 120m / 60g

Gauge
On a 4mm / US size 6 needle, working in the round in the colourwork pattern, 28 sts over 22 rounds makes a 4x4” square.
The plush nature of this DK yarn yields fewer rounds per inch than average, particularly in colourwork; with another DK weight yarn, a 4.5mm / US size 7 needle may be better suited to achieve the given gauge.

Sizing Guide
The cowl is intended to have a snug fit, with a total length of ~23”. There is an option within the pattern instructions to increase this length, however, if preferred.
The cowl’s height is ~8.5”.
