DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, I am not a professional pattern designer, so this is not a fully fleshed out pattern. You will need to do some calculations to find your size and it will help to already have an understanding of cables and sweater construction (i.e. watch some tutorials before starting this pattern).

I recommend reading the whole pattern all the way through once before starting so you get a whole picture of the construction.

ABOUT THE PATTERN
I knit this cardigan in early 2023 based on Taylor Swift’s famous Folklore Cardigan. I studied photos of the cardigan that I found online to try to recreate the original cardigan as closely as possible.

After knitting the cardigan, I had every intention of writing the process into a pattern, but I realized very quickly that pattern writing is hard! So, I put it aside. I had intentions to knit the cardigan again and maybe fine tune the process and write it down at that point, but that has yet to happen.

Now we are in September 2025 and I did my best to write something of a pattern based on what I remember doing and photos of my cardigan. Since I self-drafted this pattern, I have a hard time telling you that you must do things a certain way, because I know there are many changes you could make. But I hope this serves as a useful guide for anyone who may want to recreate their own TS Cardigan.
