Follow the Yellow Brick Path is reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz not only for my sample’s color choice, but also for the beautiful texture pattern that skirts down the front of the sock, mimicking a uneven brick road. This pattern includes both written and charted instructions for each individual size.

Note- this pattern does not include heel instructions. I have several suggestions for heels you can experiment with, but do not include actual written instructions for a heel. The heel used in my sample (and which I highly recommend) is the German Short Row Heel with a Mini Heel Flap Adjustment, a heel pattern by Mina Phillip of Knitting Expat Designs. You can purchase this heel pattern in her Ravelry Store. Thank you.

Yarn- 100 grams of fingering weight yarn. Sample was knit with one skein of Knit Picks Sock Stroll Hand Painted (75% super wash merino wool, 25%nylon. 100gms) in the Sunny Afternoon colorway.

Needles- US 2 (2.75mm) circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) with a 32-40inch cord.

Gauge- 32 stitches and 56 rows over 4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Sizing- The sizes in this pattern measure 14.5, 16, and 18 inches in circumference when finished. Keep in mind that socks are meant to be knit with a bit of negative ease when picking your size.
