Alright, football fans, your hat is here! This is a reversible beanie style hat that is sure to please the football fan in your life. Or maybe the football fan is you! The doubled-up layers means this hat is sure to keep you warm at the game, or on a typical winter day. My inspiration for this pattern was my dad, who attends AT MINIMUM 3 football games a year. This hat was a special request from him :)

With this pattern, you will receive several technique options so you are able to use the technique with which you are most comfortable. You will also receive detailed directions along with links to video tutorials for lesser known techniques used in this hat, and three color charts - one for each size. (In order for the charts to be legible when printed, I spread the charts over several pages. If using a computer, you can zoom in on the chart that fits on one page. If printing the charts, print the charts that are spread over several pages and tape them together.) And, as always, I am here to answer any questions you might have about this pattern.

For this pattern, I used Mighty Stitch worsted by Knit Picks, which tends to run on the thin side. If you are using a different brand yarn, DK might be more appropriate for gauge. The small size will fit a 20” head (teen or small women’s size). The medium size will fit a 22” head (average women’s size), and the large size will fit a 24” head (average men’s size.) If size needs to be further adjusted, using different sized needles or a different weight yarn could be used to achieve a different gauge, and therefore a different size. I used every bit of the navy skein for the men’s size, which was 100g. I used slightly over half of the orange skein (about 60g), and slightly under half of the white skein (about 40g).
