For Adrienne is a tribute to an immensely talented sock designer and a dear friend, Adrienne Fong (aka bellybuttonknits or BBK). Adrienne passed away in September 2019 after a long battle with cancer. I take a great deal of inspiration from her in my design work, so I am deeply honored to have been asked to design this pattern in her memory.

Bellybuttonknits had a lot of opinions (and we loved her for it). She had particularly strong opinions about hand-knit socks, and there were four things she loved in a good sock pattern: cuff-down, lace, cables, and beads. You won’t find any beads here (she herself liked to remind us that not every pattern needs them!), but I hope that elements of this design will remind you of her and bring you some joy.

This pattern is the Solid Socks MKAL in February / March 2020. It consists of four clues, one of which will be released each week:
Clue 1: February 1
Clue 2: February 8
Clue 3: February 15
Clue 4: February 22
