These fingerless mitts are a quick knit, using an easy cable and intarsia in the round. The contrast-colour cable begins in the cuff of the mitt and continues on up, slanting over towards the pointer finger. This creates an interesting effect, making these mitts unique. Working with intarsia in the round means that the mitts are knit in one piece, without a seam. The rows are worked in sets, which means that they are worked on the right side and then the wrong side as you go back and forth, joining the sections with wrap & turn.

It sounds daunting, but after the first rows are knit it is surprising how quickly they go!

These mitts are the same mitts as the single colour Burning Love Fingerless mitts which I designed first. The single colour version is an easier version because it is knit in the round without the intarsia or wrap & turns.

Yarn needed: Fingering/sock weight yarn
Main colour: 100-115yards / 90-100 meters
Contrast colour: 50-60 yards / 45-55 meters

DK/Sport weight yarn will also work fine with this pattern. Just go with the size needle that makes the ribbing section fit comfortably and go up a half size needle for the hand.

Other supplies: 4 stitch markers, a cable needle (optional), a needle to work in the loose ends.
