A hat for St Patrick’s Day, or when supporting the Irish at sporting events, or when you just want to be Irish.

Knit it in the orange white and green, or just green and white for a more subtle look.

Available in sizes 41, 45.5, 49, 54.5, and 57cm (16.125, 18, 19.25, 21.5, 22.5 inches), to fit babies (approx 18 months) through to large adult.

DK weight yarn in three colors: is used.
Orange 45, 50, 55, 60, 65m (49, 55, 60, 66, 71yds)
Green 50, 60, 75, 90, 105m (55, 66, 82, 98, 115yds)
White 15, 20, 30, 40, 50m (16, 22, 33, 44, 55yds)

This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up using circular needles and dpn’s . Magic loop or 2 circulars could also be used.
This is a written pattern, with a chart for the shamrock motif only.
Stranded colour work is used for the shamrock motifs.
Other stitches used are knit, purl, and knit 2 together.
