For the love of the juniper berry! (full title)

This scarf is knitted in the Turkish knit stitch. There are a few variations of the stitch around – this is one of the older versions – and the very first stitch (after garter and purl!) that I learned. Many thanks to the ever patient Nadia.

Each of my patterns include a number of yarn variations – there are 4 in addition to the original. The yarn variations along with the required needle size mean you end up with different sizing in the finished item. The patterns also include instructions on how to make patterns longer and / or wider. If you make it considerably longer than the pattern, you may find knitting on circular needles easier to hold all of your stitches. The pattern as it is, is able to be done comfortably on straight needles.

The yarns in this pattern vary from a 4ply wool held with a 2ply mohair through to a single strand 10ply cotton. One of the variations uses 20mm knitting needles the only choice I had in the loading was 19mm.

Backstory – I L O V E gin and soda… I am all about the botanicals and the soda allows them to shine. There are some fantastic distillers in Melbourne and I was so excited while on our trip overseas last September & October by the gins we tried (and bought some home!) from Iceland and Scotland. So when the yarn I chose is from Juniper Moon Farm…..what else could I name my most favourite of my scarf / wrap patterns.
