Originally when buying a skein at a Trunk Show at my LYS (Tempe Yarn and Fiber), I had intended to just knit a pair of simple stockinette socks. After a few rounds, the yarn spoke to me declaring that it needed to become the first pair of socks I will design.

These socks are knit toe up with a German Short Row Heel.

Size: 1 (2, 3, 4) - Intended to be worn with 1 inch / 2.5 cm of negative ease. When choosing a size, use the finshed dimensions to choose a size that is 1 inch / 2.5 cm smaller than the ball of the wearer’s foot. Sample measures 7 inches and is worn on a foot with a circumference of 8 inches. The stitch pattern is not stretchy and should be taken into account when choosing a size.

Finished Dimensions: 6 (7, 8, 9) inches / 15 (17.5, 20, 22.5) cm in foot circumferences.

Recommended Yarn: RNFA (Robin’s nest Fibers Arts) Zebra Sock. 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon. 100 g / 400 yards. Colorway: Twilight Seas.

Recommended Needles: US 1 (2.25mm) or size required to obtain gauge, preferred method for working with small circumferences: 16-inch, double pointed (dpns), Flexi Flips, or magic loop.

Notions: stitch markers (3), tapestry needle

Gauge: 32 sts and 52 rounds equals 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette after blocking.
