"For You" Hat
Hello!
This gender-inclusive pattern has been given a glow-up!
It is visually cleaner than its first version. Cabled stitches form OXO motif, the highlight of this design, and the second motif is a cable framed by purls and twisted stitches.
The hat’s framework follows an “A, B, A, B” pattern.
The following stitches will be found in this pattern: k, p, k2tog (knit two together), k2togtbl (knit two together through back loop), p2tog (purl two together), C4B (cable 4 back), C4F (cable 4 front), ktbl (knit through back loop), ssk (slip slip knit), and sm/pm (slip marker/place marker).
Although this hat was built to 24” circumference, you can modify it by casting on fewer ribbing stitches, and then adding extra stitches for the hat body in a preceding knit row before continuing with the pattern.
You will need 1-1.5 skeins of Malabrigo Rasta depending on your personal tension, or one skein of Wool and the Gang’s Crazy Sexy Wool. Because this pattern calls for needles smaller than the gauge and needles listed, the fabric will be very dense- this is intentionally a deep-winter, New-England-chill hat design. You may need to adjust your needle gauge if you have especially loose tension.
