Forage and Find Shawlette is a skinny style shawl/scarf worked in a simple broken rib stitch. The mix of knits and purls creates texture that looks good on both sides, so you don’t have to think about which way you wear it. The shaping comes from steady increases through the first half, followed by decreases to mirror them in the second half. The result is an easy, reversible knit that’s light to wear but adds just enough warmth for those in-between seasons. This pattern includes two shaping options: increases/decreases worked every 4th row or every 6th row.
You can choose your preferred angle for the slope of your shawlette. A 4-row repeat will give you a wider, shorter style, and a 6-row repeat will give you a steeper angle, resulting in a longer, narrower style.

Sizes:
Option 1: Narrower shape with increases every 6th row
Option 2: Wider shape with increases every 4th row

Recommended yarn:
Fingering 100% Merino. The sample shown is made in Union Fibre, Union 4ply 400m/100g.

Gauge:
Approximate gauge is 34 sts x 42 rows = 10cm/4”. Exact gauge is not essential, though it will affect finished size and yarn usage.

Meterage:
Approximately 400m of fingering weight yarn.

Recommended needles:
US4/3.5mm of your preferred needles, straight or circulars.
