You can find this pattern for free on my blog, or you can purchase an ad-free printable PDF version. If you purchase the pattern, you’ll receive two different PDFs: the standard version and one with an extra large tapestry chart for printing. You can use whichever version you prefer.

This pattern will show you how to make a decorative and functional basket with a forest motif. The forest design is made using tapestry crochet with the waistcoat stitch. If you really don’t like the waistcoat stitch, you can use single crochet instead, but the end result won’t have the same knit look.

I made my basket using two colors of Jersey Be Good T-shirt yarn and a P/Q (15 mm) crochet hook. With the gauge listed, my basket turned out 7.5” tall and about 11” in diameter. There’s a huge variety in T-shirt yarns, so depending on what you use, yours may turn out to be a different size (and you may need to switch hook sizes). It should still work great though, so feel free to use whatever you have on hand and don’t stress about the gauge too much.

You’re welcome to do whatever you’d like to with finished products made from this pattern but if you do sell them, I ask that you link back to my page.
