Forest Fairy Hooded Cowl
Forest Fairy Hooded Cowl
I have a deep love for anything Fairy, and my happiest times are spent walking through the forests near my home in Somerset, England. I was inspired by the leafiness of the woods to create a hood suitable for forest fairies for when the leaves turn and there is a chill in the air.
This hood is knit in DK yarn using a 4mm circular needle (minimum 80cm length). It starts in the round , then separates to create the hood openin where the hood is continued to knit flat. The leaf lacework design is a simple repeat. The pattern is repetitive so easy to knit without the chart. You have a choice of knitting a wavy edge hood or straight edge with drawstrings. The pattern one size only in an adult size.
The hood takes 330 metres of dk yarn. I used Yarnsmith Create DK by Woolwarehouse in “Dark Sage” and “Antique Gold”.
The pattern is in written instructions with lavework in chart and written form. This hood is worked in the round and flat.
Materials
Yarn – 330m of dk yarn (30m of which is the rib cuff if using contrast colour)
