Forest Fingerless Gloves
This knitting pattern is for a pair of fingerless gloves or handwarmers. There are two sizes (small/medium - adult woman-ish; and medium large - adult man-ish) and three designs per size, for a total of six charts. The designs are for a mushroom, a mouse, and an acorn, and I’ve scaled them up or down depending on the size.
These handwarmers would be a great project for someone new-ish to fair-isle who’s looking for something a bit more complicated than a headband, but not as intimidating as a sweater. Along with fair-isle and knitting in the round, you’ll need to know how to make 1 left, make 1 right, knit 2 together, and slip slip knit.
I used Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted for my fingerless gloves, but you can use any yarn you like! Wool of the Andes comes in 50-gram skeins, and I use two skeins per pair of mitts (one in each color) but always have leftover yarn afterwards. This project is a great stash-buster.
Although I use this pattern to make my mitts, it has not been tested by other knitters. If you have any questions about the instructions as you’re knitting, feel free to send me an email at mistymorningknits@gmail.com and we’ll get it sorted!
