Inspired by the quiet beauty beneath the trees, the Forest Floor Shawl captures the organic rhythm of pine needles scattered in every direction, fallen leaves, slender twigs, and the last hints of flowers as the seasons turn. What first appears as a tangle of shapes and colors soon reveals an underlying harmony — nature’s own pattern emerging from the chaos.

Gorgeous hand-dyed yarns bring this landscape to life, their shifting tones paired with a soft violet that evokes the final blooms of the forest. Worked in a simple, repetitive mosaic slip-stitch pattern, this design is soothing to knit and striking to wear.

The shawl is knit from the bottom up, beginning at the center point and increasing along both sides to achieve the desired width. Follow the pattern for the sample size, or continue knitting until you’ve reached the size that suits you best. The easy-to-follow chart is a visual representation of the finished fabric, making the process intuitive and rewarding from start to finish.
