Avevo già in mente da tempo di realizzare un capo per uomo. Per cui ho fatto scegliere a mia figlia un filato tra quelli che avevo nel mio stash. Lei ha scelto un verde scuro, tinto a mano di Dark Omen Yarn. Il colore mi ha fatto pensare al Schwarzwald Foresta Nera, nel cuore di questo bosco gli alberi sono così fitti che sembrano addirittura neri. Il colore panna utilizzato come contrasto vuole rappresentare i delicati raggi di sole che a volte si affacciano timidamente tra questa fitta boscaglia. Il maglione è tutto a maglia rasata dritta, ha una lavorazione in top down che inizia con un avvio a maglia tubolare, per poi proseguire con un punto coste e rimaglio finto industriale. La costruzione del corpo e delle maniche è con la tecnica raglan. L’ inserimento qua e là del colore di contrasto con la tecnica rovescio tessuto, è facile da realizzare nonostante sia poco conosciuta. Il capo ha un agio di ca. 10 cm per tanto veste aderente. Le maniche aderiscono perfettamente al corpo senza stringere.

Schon lange wollte ich ein Modell für Männer entwerfen und ließ deshalb meine Tochter ein Garn aus meinem Vorrat auswählen. Sie entschied sich für ein handgefärbtes Dunkelgrün von Dark Omen Yarn. Die Farbe erinnerte mich an den Schwarzwald, dessen dicht stehende Bäume beinahe schwarz wirken. Die cremefarbene Kontrastfarbe steht für die zarten Sonnenstrahlen, die gelegentlich durch das dichte Gehölz dringen. Der Pullover wird vollständig glatt rechts und von oben nach unten gearbeitet. Er beginnt mit einem italienischen Anschlag; darauf folgen Rippenmuster und ein maschenbildähnlicher Abschluss. Rumpf und Ärmel werden mit Raglanzunahmen geformt. Kleine Akzente in der Kontrastfarbe entstehen mit dem leicht zu arbeitenden Weblinken-Effekt. Das Modell hat etwa 10 cm Mehrweite und sitzt körpernah. Die Ärmel liegen gut an, ohne einzuengen.

I had wanted to design a men’s garment for some time, so I asked my daughter to choose a yarn from my stash. She selected a hand-dyed dark green from Dark Omen Yarn. The colour made me think of the Schwarzwald, the Black Forest, where the trees grow so densely that they can appear almost black. The cream contrast colour represents the delicate rays of sunlight that occasionally filter timidly through the thick woodland. The sweater is worked entirely in stockinette stitch, top down, beginning with a tubular cast-on and continuing with ribbing and a faux machine-knit finish. The body and sleeves are shaped with raglan construction. Small accents of the contrast colour are added here and there using the Woven Purl Effect technique, which is easy to work although not widely known. The garment is designed with approximately 10 cm (4 in) of positive ease and therefore has a close fit. The sleeves fit the arms neatly without feeling tight.
