Forget-me-not Granny Square
This a flowery twist on the classic granny square featuring my favourite ever flower the Forget-me-not. This quick and simple 3D square is best made with a cotton yarn and will look it’s best after some wet blocking. Made in 6 rounds features a 3D Forget-me-not flower centre surrounded by classic granny square stitches. Perfect for beginners that are familiar with slip stitch, chain, back and front loop, double crochet and treble crochet. That’s it really! Only 5 terms and 2 stitches.
Materials:
I used my favourite Aran weight cotton Drops Paris, which I purchase from Wool Warehouse, but any Aran weight cotton will work.
You will need:
- 1 ball each (they’ll be plenty of leftovers left from yellow, blue and white for more squares) of Drops Paris aran weight cotton yarn in following colours:
- 34 - Strong Yellow,
- 10 - Dark Turquoise
- 39 - Wasabi
- 17 – Off White
- 05 – Light Purple (if you are planning on making different flowers in 3 different colours like I did originally for my bag you will also need this colour)
- Size 5mm Hook (I use Clover Amour hook, which I find the most comfortable for me)
- Tapestry needle to weave in ends
- Embroidery scissors
- Foam mat, spray bottle and pins for wet blocking.
