Fountain Lace Cardigan is a top-down lace raglan knit seamlessly using 2 yarns, one with sparkle and sequins! You can control the degree of sparkle by how much you use the sparkle yarn. Or you can knit it without sparkles if you want! One sample is knitted in Colourmart DK linen and Lang Paillettes. The Paillettes yarn is only used every 3rd row, and not incorporated into the edges, so it is a nice amount of sparkle without being overpowering. Any worsted or DK yarn with nice drape will also work if you get gauge. Sparkle is optional! Another sample was worked in worsted-weight cotton, Covington, plus Ella Rae Sequinicity held every row. Have fun with it!
Sweater begins with a back neck strip, then stitches are picked up and worked in Fountain lace pattern (from Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns, pg 272) with Raglan shaping to chest size. Sleeve stitches are placed on hold, and knitting is continued on the body to hem. Sleeves are then worked down to elbow-length but adjustable as needed. There are several customization options given to create a lacy sweater of your dreams!
Pattern is fully charted for each size. It has been tech edited and tested by my wonderful team of testers!
