This shawl can be made in either fingering or dk yarn, just use an appropriate gauge for your yarn of choice. The required yardage will vary depending on the desired size. 300 yards of fingering will make a small little shawlette version, while 600 will make a full sized shawl. For fingering weight yarn US size 6 needles should be about right.
