This pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter as it is knit flat using worsted weight yarn and 5mm (US8) needles, then seamed. If you choose to stuff the tail you will require a small amount of polyester stuffing, but it’s not necessary.

You will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, purl, knit front and back and knit two stitches together. The bonnet ties are crocheted, but if you prefer not to crochet them, you could easily add ribbon or sari silk or even chiffon ties and it would look great!

My gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 10x10 cms.
