This crochet Fox toy pattern can be used to make either a baby-friendly soft toy or a soft toy with wiring that allows various postures for Fox.

Materials:
• Yarn: medium worsted in main colour for Fox (50 g or 1.75 oz), white for nose and body (10 g or 0.35 oz), black for the arms, legs, nose and for embroidering features (10 g or 0.35 oz), and small amounts of light gray for ears (1.5 m or 5 ft)
• Hook: 4.0 mm
• Tapestry Needle: a blunt-end needle for embroidery and assembly
• Stuffing: cotton stuffing for making soft toys
• Hardware: Wire (18 gauge or 1.00 mm diameter), wire tape, and pliers
• Optional: quilting pins to keep parts in place when assembling

Gauge & Final Size:
Gauge is not important in this pattern. However, using different yarns and hooks, the final product can range in size from 16.5 cm (or 6.5 inches – with a 2.50 mm hook) to 44 cm (17.5 inches – with a 7.00 mm hook). The sample in the pattern is worked with a 4.00 mm hook and is 24 cm or 9.5 in tall.

The pattern is worked mainly in half double crochet (hdc), using single crochet (sc) and double crochet (dc) for shaping. Additionally, it uses basic embroidery stitches.
