This pattern is one of eight from the e-book “Little Scarves: Baktus and Karius for the Loom”. Adding a little frame to your Karius solves some of the problem of rolling edges typical of stockinette fabrics. This version is a good option when you want to work with a yarn that may not block well, or if you prefer a Karius with a heavier yarn and dense fabric. While both the basic and framed Karius will block into a lovely, lacy fabric, using this version with a heavier weight yarn will make your Karius into a warm and cozy scarf.

Loom: The pattern is written for three loom gauges. While the sizing is adjustable, the following pegs are suggested:
5/8 inch gauge = 28 pegs
½ inch gauge = 32 pegs
3/8 inch gauge = 36 pegs

Yarn: The photo sample was made with Lang Jawoll Magic 6 Fach. The amounts below are suggested:
Lace = 225 yards
Fingering = 200 yards
DK = 185 yards
Worsted = 160 yards
Bulky = 145 yards

The e-book comes with two files. One is a large print 24 point font, and the other is a 12 point font paper-saver file. The book includes 8 patterns, as well as information on variations for your Framed Karius and a photo gallery.

My patterns are low vision and screen reader accessible. The text is black, Arial and large print 24 point font. All of the directions are fully written out and no charts are relied on to complete the patterns. No italics are used. They are screen reader and tablet friendly.
