Two skeins will make both the hat and gauntlets. If you are after the hat only, and if you can live without the luxuriously large pompom, it can be made from one skein.

This is not the easiest pattern to adjust size -- you need to go up or down in increments of 4 sts which is more than an inch in this pattern. This hat fits between 20’ and 23”. If your head is significantly bigger or smaller you might try adjusting needle size.
