This cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down, with cap sleeves and embellished yoke and body. The yoke is embellished by a progressively larger garter stripe band while three lace bands adorn the body. It is both flattering and very feminine, suitable for to dress up summer dresses or wear as a shoulder warmer over jeans when fall finally comes.

This is a fast project, perfect for someone first venturing into knitting a women’s garment. The pattern is completely seamless, in one piece and worked flat at the exception of one round for the finishing of the cap sleeves. The button bands are worked in garter stitch with the rest of the cardigan, so there is no need for picking up stitches and the finishing is reduced to weaving in the ends and sewing the buttons on.

This is also a project suitable for first time lace knitters, as there are both written and charted instructions for the lace and the lace is restricted to three panels delimited with markers.

There is now a coordinating tam, designed by Debbie Anne & Susan Ann, Francoise Tammie!
