These gloves were based on one found by Lt. Hobson on King William Island near Cape Felix as part of McClintock’s 1857 search for Franklin’s lost arctic expedition.

This is not a beginner pattern, it assumes basic knowledge of how gloves are knit and the skills required to do so but it does include all the counts and charts needed

You will need approx 230 yards of white and 80 yards each of red and blue

This pattern also includes historical information about recreating these gloves from the existent evidence and photographs of them

Due to the difference in color work in reality gauge may range more between 13-14 stitches per inch
