Recently, I completed an approximately 60cm square panel in free form crochet. These instructions will get you started to try out your own!

The pattern captures what I learnt about working in free form and tips to get the shape and outcome you seek.

The free form panel I have created is designed to be the base in photography for my miniature soft sculptures. The key things I wanted was a nice flat finish so I can stand sculptures easily and to make a specific size that would fit my photography rig.

Interestingly, although free form is without a pattern, to capture my needs, I did have to follow some rules.
