Four dolls can be made from one 7 oz. skein of Red Heart. Color recommendations for different races (no colors are listed on the pattern):
0313 Aran (this appears to be what Beth uses) - very light complexion
0334 Buff - Light/medium complexion
0336 Warm Brown - Medium/dark complexion
0365 Coffee - Dark complexion

For the eyes, the pattern suggests white/off white and dark brown/black perle cotton.

Additional notions needed: one 1/2” diameter wooden spool for the neck; 12mm acrylic safety eyes (or buttons, embroidery thread, etc. for eyes); fiberfill; 5 pipe cleaners (in a color similar to the yarn you use); row markers; embroidery floss for mouth; chalk or blush for cheeks.

You will also need yarn for the wig cap; the designer recommends wool, and although there are no yarn requirements listed here, she provides some guidance as to how to make the wig cap and hair on her blog (as well as a Flickr tutorial).

This pattern is for the doll only. Also check out Beth’s blog for thread crochet clothing for this doll. The blog also includes an extensive (and extremely helpful) photo tutorial.
