French 75 is all about elegant cables and beautiful lines. The undulating motif is simple and eye catching, and knit in creamy white Corriedale, it’s got a classic look that can easily pair with almost anything in your closet.

Details that I loved while designing this: An unfinished hem that starts off the body with a few cable twists, the seed stitch side panels that provide contrast and a bit of texture, and the way the twisted edge cables on the front and back panels continue up to create the raglan seam.

A subtly vintage vibe is created with a longer “short” sleeve, a wide, shallow neckline accented with a deep ribbed collar, and a short length. (Which I think is the PERFECT silhouette to pair with anything high waisted right now…)

As always, I made sure the sweater body would be easy to modify for length or width, the neckline can be tweaked, and sleeves can be worked to any length you like. Notes are included in the PDF on where and how to customize the instructions to modify things as you need for your own body or wardrobe.

Sizes:

98.5(106.75,117,125,133.5)(141,146.75,157.5)cm
Sizes reflect circumference of sweater around bust. Shown worn with approx. 5”/12.75cm of positive ease on Kayla.

Note that this sweater can be worn with less ease for a more fitted silhouette, and it looks amazing hugging some curves,

If substituting yarn for the Nest, another worsted weight classic wool yarn should provide a similar fabric. I suggest a solid, semi solid, tweed or heather colorway, as anything too vareigated will compete with the detail of the design. Beware of any fibers with a lot of drape or weight, and be sure to check gauge in both pattern and stockinette stitch.

Sample knit in the Natural colorway of Nest Worsted.
