A fresco is a painting technique where the pigments merge with the wall and become a permanent part of it. That is the essence of this design: two distinct threads that meet and intertwine, strand by strand, until they form a new, inseparable fabric full of nuances.

The Fresco Sweater is a seamless, drop-shoulder sweater knit from the top down. Its magic lies in the beautiful mix of textures: a central Seed Stitch panel framed by striking Cable Panels, worked using an intuitive faux-intarsia technique to avoid cutting yarns.

Designed to be worn with approximately 10-15 cm / 4-6 in of positive ease at the bust.

YARN
This design uses two different yarn combinations. You will need:

Yarn A (Fingering weight): 1152 (1265, 1377, 1488, 1600) (1712, 1822) m / 1260 (1383, 1506, 1627, 1750) (1872, 1993) yds.

Yarn B (Lace weight / fluffy): 670 (730, 795, 860, 920) (980, 1045) m / 733 (798, 869, 941, 1006) (1072, 1143) yds.

Note: The cables and ribbing are worked holding 2 strands of Yarn A. The Seed Stitch body and sleeves are worked holding 1 strand of Yarn A + 1 strand of Yarn B.

GAUGE
14 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in over Seed Stitch on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles, holding 1 strand of Yarn A + 1 strand of Yarn B together, after blocking.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Main: 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles (80 cm / 32 in).
Ribbing: 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles (80 cm / 32 in).
Cable needle, stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn.

TECHNIQUES REQUIRED
Knitting flat and in the round, reading charts (optional, written instructions provided), cables, German Short Rows, picking up stitches, Icelandic Bind-Off, and I-cord Bind-Off.

El Fresco Suéter es un suéter de hombros caídos (drop-shoulder), tejido de arriba hacia abajo y sin costuras.
