The Fresh ‘N Fruity Market Bag pattern creates 4 different options (or more, depending on the colors used) of fruit to make mesh market bags that fold up into their own pockets! A finished market bag will resemble one of the four fruits listed in the pattern: lemon, lime, orange or blueberry (a watermelon modification is also available, though you will need this pattern to be able to make it).

For this pattern you will need the following materials:

• 5mm Crochet Hook
• 4mm Crochet Hook
• Tapestry or Darning Needle
• A button (to be sewn to the outside to secure the closure)
• Lily’s Sugar ‘N Cream Cotton yarn in at least two different colors -- You will need a color for the fruit, and a shade of green for the closure. I choose to use a third, separate color for the mesh portion of the bag (either a solid or striped), but you can limit it to two colors if that is your preference. Please note that I HIGHLY suggest purchasing a Super Size ball, especially if you are going to keep the same color for the pocket and mesh portions.
• Yarn snips/scissors

Please NOTE: total yardage will ultimately depend on tension + how many rounds of mesh you decide to make. Per the pattern with a light tension, yardage is approximately 100 yrds in total.

These bags work up quickly, use simple stitches (chains, single crochet, double crochet and treble crochet) and are perfect for personal use for produce shopping or selling at markets! They were crafted specifically with farmer’s markets in mind, and they go over great there.
