There is something so elegant about classic aran knitting. Strong, raised lines criss-cross to create surface movement while deep textures, like timeless moss stitch, add warmth and richness. Today’s pattern, the Fresh Snow Hat, presents a clean and striking diamond and moss cable accented with whimsical bobbles to create a bold motif. What a beautiful gift set this is when worked alongside the matching mittens! This hat is worked upward from the brim and finishes with an applied I-cord edge. Shaping is worked cleverly into the cable background lending a smooth, seamless look to the classic ‘tam’ styling. This pattern is written for Small, Medium and Large and assumes 1-1/2” negative ease for a trim fit. Cable stitches are presented in charted form.

Be sure to check out the matching mittens! Fresh Snow Mittens.
