This plush flea is quick and easy to complete and makes a great gift for bug-loving friends and kids.

The body is worked in one piece in the round, then the six legs are worked individually and attached to the body. Short rows at the leg joints are the flea’s knees!

I used two skeins of Premier Just Chenille (one for the body and about half of a skein for the legs) and a 4.0mm hook. Other similar chenilles (for example, Bernat Velvet) can be substituted, however this pattern has not been tested with other yarns. You may also want to have at hand a stitch marker, yarn needle, polyfill or your preferred stuffing, and safety eyes.

The final flea measures at about 9-10 inches long and about 5 inches wide around the abdomen. Yikes! It’s a good thing this chunky bug is fuzzy and friendly (:
