Fronds is a slouchy hat inspired by the beautiful lines of new, unfurling fern leaves. The hat features a small-scale winding lace pattern, which is created with basic stitches and anchored with simple 1x1 ribbing.

When fully blocked, the yarn overs in the lace pattern underline the meandering quality of the stitches. For a different look, the lace can also be left unblocked, which will give the fabric even more texture.
