Bold colorwork circling the crown brings to mind a thick coating of rime. Soft sprinkles of snow fall gently down above it. A folded brim gives the hat cozy warmth and style

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Hat circumference: (17.5, 20.5, 23.25) inches / (44, 51.5, 58) cm

Hat height: (7.5, 8, 8.5) inches / (19, 20, 21.5) cm

Choose the size closest to the recipient’s head circumference. Stranded colorwork is typically less stretchy than regular stockinette.

YARN
(1, 1, 1) skein Festivus 7.0 in the color Hollyberry (MC),

(1, 1, 1) skein Festivus 7.0 in Birch (CC),

Or (131, 153, 174) yards / (120, 140, 160) meters MC,

(19, 22, 26) yards / (18, 21, 23) meters CC worsted weight yarn.

NEEDLES
One 40 inch (100 cm) US size 7 (4.5 mm) (or size needed to obtain gauge), and one 40 inch (100 cm) US size 5 (3.75 mm) (or two whole sizes smaller than gauge needle) circular knitting needles.

Note: Magic loop is used for all small circumference knitting in my patterns. If you prefer, you can use a smaller length circular needle or double pointed needles of the same sizes to work the hat.

NOTIONS
Stitch marker, and a tapestry needle.

GAUGE
22 stitches and 25 RNDS = 4 inches / 10 cm in colorwork pattern on US size 7 (4.5 mm) needles.
