Frosting is the first exclusive design for the Expedition YarnScout Club! This project features a marling technique – a marled yarn is created by simply hold two yarns together while knitting. Choose yarns for either color or texture; and in this case we’ve decided to do both! For this hat project, we’ve chosen a contrast color sock mini held together with DK weight Merino Singles to create a distinctive ribbed brim and then two colors of Kidsilk Lace to add a little texture and “frosting” on top! This would also be a perfect pattern to use up small bits of sock yarn and mohair instead of purchasing full skeins.

This hat is designed with a lined brim, but without the fiddly provisional cast-on that is usually involved with a brim like this. Still has that same professional, finished look but with no chance of dropping stitches.
