Froyn
This is the thirty third square released for the In Mawwi blanket, this pattern was originally released as a graph on an ELCG (East London Crochet Group) worksheet in December 2023, I have now added the written instructions and added the photo of the reverse of the square as well as the front.
This square is worked in Interlocking/double filet crochet from the bottom up.
Double Filet crochet is very similar to interlocking crochet where you work two filet nets interwoven, and this square is a great example of this with the centre section of the square front and back being clearly separate.
Although I recommend DK acrylic, you can use any yarn you like as long as you choose the appropriate hook size but be warned as it is a double layer using cotton can make a blanket quite heavy, but that maybe what you want.
Just a reminder that the reason that I have released these as free is that although the pattern is perfect things like the photos and grammar may not be.
This is a good square to start with as it is nice and symmetrical.
There are no instructions for joining the squares, every one has their own preferences but I use the standard front lacing method that the ELCG use.
