Interpretations Vol. 6 is another magical and heartfelt collaboration between Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki. Like each Volume before, the 6th Volume includes six themes, six words with two designs inspired by each word, showing a personal take on each of these themes.

This year the photo shoot was set in charming Barcelona and we had the honor to have Jonna Hietala taking all the pictures for this book.

Crisp mornings and cold breezes – you can feel winter approaching with all the senses of your body. Connection is often made true by your senses: touching, seeing, or hearing.

The fading color palette and smooth short rows joined together with garter stitch lace are the things that really make this crescent shawl come alive. There is plenty of peaceful knitting with perfect amount of interest. The delicate details of the lace remind me of frozen and glittering straw on a wintery field.

Finished measurements (after blocking): 90½” (230 cm) long and 18½” (47 cm) deep at deepest point.

Yarn: 1 set of 300 g Gradient by La Fée Fil, 3 skeins (75% Merino Wool, 25% Nylon; 465 yds (425 m) / 100 g) or approx. 1300 yds (1190 m) of fingering weight yarn. The sample was knit using colorway Sur mon nuage gris.
Needles: US 6 / 4 mm circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

22 stitches and 44 rows = 4” (10 cm) in garter stitch.
