The cracked ice of a frozen lake on a winter morning gave me the inspiration for this shawl.
The Frozen Loch shawl provides a stretchy bind-off for a neat finish to the graphic lace design, which is easy to work from fully written-out directions with stitch counts, as well as a schematic and an easy-to-read chart.
YARN
BC garn Loch Lomond (100% Wool, 50 gr-164yds/150m).
Sample yardage, 629yds/575m in color 06 Silver, 4 skeins.
Or any Sport weight yarn: approx. 623-733yds (570-670m).
MATERIALS
32-40” (minimum 80-100 cm) circular or straight needles.
US 6 (4.0 mm)
US 7 (4.5 mm)
Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
GAUGE - BLOCKED 4” (10 cm)
In stockinette pattern, 17 stitches x 28 rows.
Gauge is not crucial at all, but will affect final size and yardage.
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
Approx. 77” (195 cm) wingspan along top edge 26.5” (67 cm) width.
