This is a written crochet pattern for the “Fruit Slice Coasters (& Platter)”- four different coaster designs (Watermelon, Kiwi, Orange and Dragon Fruit) and a ‘platter’ to hold/display them in.

The pattern is available in both US and UK terms. The PDF file is 12 pages long with detailed instructions and lots of photos. In addition to Etsy, this pattern is also available on my Ravelry store to purchase.

This pattern is suitable for crocheters that are already familiar with basic crochet stitches/techniques (e.g MR, sc, hdc, dc, inc, BLO, colour changing etc). The coasters are worked in joined rounds, and the platter is mainly worked in rows. This pattern is designed to be low sew/low embroidery and instead uses crochet colour changes to achieve the fruits’ designs. The only embroidery required is for the black seeds on the dragon fruit.

Materials & Tools Required:
•DK/8ply OR 6ply weight yarn, in colours red, orange, light green, dark green, light pink, dark pink, black, white, brown and beige.
•A crochet hook that matches your yarn weight and personal tension (I used 3mm).
•Scissors
•Tapestry/finishing needle
•Stitch marker (optional)

Using a 3mm hook and DK weight yarn my finished coasters measured roughly 9cm in diameter and my finished platter measured 6.5cm x 7cm x 1cm. Gauge swatch details are included in the pattern to help with sizing.

These coasters are great for summer and for BBQ parties- they look great both when in use and also just as a display piece with them folded up as slices in the fruit platter. Thanks for checking them out!
