Fruity Socks - Kiwi
Kiwi socks are a fun, colorful project that captures the fresh look of a sliced kiwi! The pattern uses colorwork with a chart, so if you’ve done stranding before, you’ll pick it up quickly. Just remember to keep your floats loose so the socks don’t pull — change to larger needles if the leg feels tight.
Gauge (4-ply sock yarn):
30 stitches and 40 rows = 10 × 10 cm
Materials needed:
Kremke Edelweiss Alpaca 4-ply (25 g = 100 m / 109 yd)
65% virgin wool, 25% polyamide, 10% alpaca
✱ 1 ball color 24 (dark brown)
✱ 2 balls color 29 (spring green)
✱ 1 ball color 01 (natural white)
✱ Small scrap quantity color 55 (anthrazit)
✱ 2.5 mm (US 1.5) DPNs (set of 5) or long circular needles (or size needed to obtain correct gauge)
The yarn quantities are sufficient for one pair of socks in sizes EU 37–42. Adjust yarn amounts accordingly for smaller or larger sizes.
