Brightly colored stripes slanting diagonally across the body are both flattering and fun to knit. Select the perfect color combination, or use leftover odds and ends. Color-play and an interesting construction method make for a fascinating project.

This sweater is made seamlessly from the top down, but it is knit flat. Each stripe spans one half of the body, beginning at the center front and ending at the center back, and is worked back and forth. Alternating from right side to left side, and picking up stitches along the side edges of the previous stripes as you go, each new stripe builds and stacks upon the previous stripes.
