The Funkkis socks formed out of a need and necessity. My daughter asked me to knit her a pair of socks that wouldn’t get all rutty inside her shoes as she wore them.

I knit her a pair that was to become the seedling for the Funkkis socks.
Funkkis is Finnish shorthand for Functionality, referring to the architectural style of design from the 1930’s.

The Funkkis socks are meant to be functional.
The diagonal lines hug your foot and heel snuggly but not too tight. The fabric compresses in on itself whenever it can, but is at the same time very stretchy so as to accommodate different widths of feet.

Funkkis is a cabled sock pattern. It’s structure allows the fabric to stretch massively to any direction, allowing the same pattern to fit many different sizes of feet.
