This is an easy and fast project using only one ball of the suggested yarn. Because the suggested yarn is held double and uses the entire ball, if you choose to substitute a different yarn that gives the correct gauge without doubling, you’ll be using half as much yardage.

If you choose to use the exact yarn listed, I suggest cutting the extra tails before beginning the knitting or using a contrasting yarn for the braids. This project uses the entire ball with very little wiggle room.
