Furry Knitted Baby Bunny Ears
his hat was inspired by my sweet little girl Summer. I wanted some cute baby bunny ears for Easter and couldn’t find any as long or as furry as I wanted. So before you know it, I went to the store, bought some yarn and hand knitted one myself.
This pattern includes 5 sizes:
-Newborn (~12 inches)
-3 Month (~14 inches)
-6 Month (~16 inches)
-12 Month (~18 inches)
-Child (~20 inches)
This pattern is meant for furry/fuzzy/difficult yarns. If you are looking for a hat with lots of stitch flourishes, this is NOT your pattern. I designed this hat when I ran into issues trying to work with fuzzy yarn in a crochet. I decided it is much easier to knit with fuzzy yarn instead of crochet. Typical hat height is between 4-8 inches depending on diameter. Ears are 12 inches long.
I recommend using the Caribou by HiKoo yarn. It is so fluffy and nice. I used two of their skeins. One I used up completely for the base and ears of the hat. The other I used for the inner lining of the ears and used about half.
Optional, you may want some elastic to line the hat base with to help secure it to your child’s head.
Thank you so much for looking! If there are any issues, please let me know and I will help you out!
**WARNING**
Because of the ears, this product is to be used under strict parental guidance. The hat is a cute accessories for pictures and not a long term wearable. Keep an eye on child always while they are wearing this product.
