Fusion Granola
Here’s a fun pattern that uses two skeins of Granola in matching colors for a modular knitting project!
If you’re excited to try out this unique yarn made from a blend of merino and hemp, or if you have a skein or two hanging out in your stash, here is the project to dive in.
Pattern instructions are super easy to follow with clear step-by-step instructions. Plus, you’ll find helpful visuals and a handy diagram at the end to guide you along the way.
You can either order the pattern on its own or get it at no cost by buying the Fusion Granola knitting kit, which allows you to customize your colors.
YARN REQUIRED
LOUISE ROBERT COLLECTION - GRANOLA 70% Merino wool, 30% Hemp; 300 m per 100 g - 2 SKEINS - shown in
A - 1 SKEIN - Paprika
B - 1 SKEIN - Queenie
NEEDLES AND ACCESSORIES
Circular needles 3.25 mm (US 3) - or the size required to obtain the gauge.
Tapestry needle
SIZE - ONE SIZE
WIDTH = 135 cm (53”) x HEIGHT = 42 cm (16.5”)
GAUGE
24 stitches = 10 cm (4”) in stockinette stitch before blocking.
ATTENTION: Nearly all of the two skeins of Granola were used to knit the shawl shown in the photo. Be sure to maintain the correct gauge to avoid running out of yarn. If you’re uncertain, getting an extra skein of each color is advisable.*
NOTE
This shawl is knitted in a modular fashion, i.e., in small sections attached to each other by picking up stitches as the work progresses. No seams required! A diagram accompanies the instructions on the last page to illustrate the shawl base made up of 7 triangles and the shawl body, which evolves in a succession of diamonds. Given the type of construction and the fact that this project is knitted entirely in garter stitch, I suggest using a position marker to clearly identify the right side and wrong side of the work.
