This pattern is designed to be the perfect shawl for festival knitting. Knit in garter stitch throughout the shawl starts with a 3st cast on and grows sideways and on the bias with a very easy to remember, 2-row repeat.

When you find that perfect skein of yarn that just has to be cast on right away, this is the perfect shawl for the job.

The slipped stitch edges give a relaxed crescent shape. The garter stitch and the asymmetrical bias mean that the shawl will work with all but the most wildly variegated of yarns.

A note on yarns:
The rainbow gradient shawl is knit with a 100g sock yarn blank from The Wool Kitchen

The speckled shawl immediately below is knit with 100g sock yarn from Rusty Ferret.

5th April 2017: The pattern has been updated to include instructions for making a striped version of this shawl. Amounts are approximate and the design is very forgiving allowing for plenty of stash busting potential. Allow at least 90g of the main colour (MC) and 25g of the contrast colour (CC) but you could use 2 full 100g skeins and go for a mahoosive shawl.

Please note: in pattern all stitches should be slipped purlwise.
