Download includes digital instructions on how to crochet your own wall hanging artwork for yourself or as a gift :)

Pattern based off of the nostalgia of those fuzzy worms on a string--I think called Squirmles although I’ve seen them have so many names(?!)

This is an instant download of a DIGITAL PDF Pattern containing:

  • left & right handed color blocks and graphs
  • links to the Stitch Fiddle patterns if you would like to download, edit, or copy them to your own account
  • written instructions on how to read a graph, how to block your tapestry piece, how to crochet a border of single crochet around, and how to attach a dowel to your project
  • corresponding links to my tapestry crochet series on YouTube where I explain step-by-step how to make a base chain, how to color change, how to block your piece, how to crochet a border, and how to attach dowels to your project
  • additional recommended YouTube links if you need more help understanding tapestry/intarsia crochet techniques and how to read a crochet graph

I would recommend you are familiar with color changing, tapestry, and intarsia crochet techniques, but I do provide written instructions for beginners for each step and corresponding links to YouTube video tutorials if you are up for the challenge.

Materials:

  • 3.75 mm crochet hook
  • I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream yarn brand (4 ply medium worsted cotton) in colors Black, White, Dark Orchid, Hot Pink, Rainforest, and Tangerine. 1 skein per color. 113g / 4oz, 184m / 200yd per skein
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle
  • Optional: Dowel rod(s) for hanging purposes. I used 2 wooden dowels, one for the top and one for the bottom. For my project size, I used dowels 15.5” long each.
  • Optional: Blocking materials: pins, foam mat, and steamer. There are many ways to block a crochet piece--my favorite method is with a steamer and a foam mat

Finished size:
Using a 3.75 mm hook with the yarn I chose, my project measures: 14.5” by 13.5” without dowels. Keep in mind due to hook size, yarn type, and tension differences, your project may be bigger or smaller than mine.
